A balanced nutrition is important for maintaining the
regular function of all the structures in the body. While many people follow
restricted diets, most commonly centered around weight loss, following the
discipline closely and avoiding the cravings can be challenging. These
nutritional goals are not impossible to achieve although, starting out by
detoxifying the body can help.
First and foremost, in order to detox your body, one must
begin by breaking the sugar cycle. A large variety of food products today
contain large amounts of sugar and other additives that while they aren’t the
healthiest choice for your, they are often preferred over the healthier
options. Ultimately, the key to detox the body of sugar is to simply avoid
consuming it all together rather than moderating its consumption. Sugar
stimulates cravings which can lead people to eat more and in turn stimulate
more cravings. Sugar intakes create an unhealthy cycle that can make healthy
eating habits difficult. If you can avoid sugar for three full days, your
cravings will improve and settle down.
After you’ve dealt with the sugar cravings, detoxifying the
body of salt should follow. The majority of people find that once the sugar in
their body is under control, salt cravings become more manageable. At this
point in the detox, it’s important to avoid the consumption of foods containing
large amounts of salt for a couple of weeks. The goal of this type of detox is
to maintain an individual’s cravings under control in order to avoid making
poor nutritional choices.
Once you’ve broken the sugar/salt cycle and your cravings
are either out of your system or at least manageable, it’s time to start adding
more salads, soups, and veggies into your diet while also gradually decreasing
the consumption of bread. After all, bread cravings are only sugar cravings in
disguise and, like with the above sugar and salt detox, you must also learn to
manage bread cravings. After completing the detox, fill up your daily meals
with plenty of fruits and vegetables, lean meats, as well as whole grains and a
smaller portion of dairy products and you would have achieved your health goals
and managed unhealthy food cravings.
